Easy Popcorn Ball Recipe

Popcorn balls are one of those recipes that look super complicated and Pinterest worthy but are honestly the easiest things to make if you have patience! Growing up as a kid I don't think we ever did anything fun with popcorn besides smother it in salsa Valentina but with Mila & Jeff I wanted to make something that was fun and easy! Jeff isn't the best in the kitchen and the only thing he's mastered are his bomb omelettes but he loves trying new things with Mila bear 💓

I am going to share with you my base recipe & then you can pretty much go crazy from there. I used marshmallow's & maple syrup because it was the only fun things I had in my pantry but you can add M&M's, any chocolate or even bacon to make them a little more interesting.

What you'll need:

  • 1 bag of popped popcorn
  • 1/2 a stick of butter
  • 1/2 a bag of mini marshmallows

 How to do it:

1. Melt 1/2 stick of butter in a medium sauce pan completely
2. In the same pan slowly stir in 1/2 bag of marshmallows until it's completely melted (if adding Maple syrup here is where you would do that!)
3. Make sure all the seeds have been removed from the popcorn & pour it into a mixing bowl
4. Slowly pour melted butter + marshmallows on top of popcorn
5. Mix together & add your extra ingredients (chocolate bits, mini marshmallows, M&M's, etc.)
6. Wait 5-8 minutes until mixture is completely cool
7. Butter your hands & grab a handful of popcorn to mold into a ball shape

Viola! You have a popcorn ball 💥

Waiting until the popcorn mixture is completely cool is the key element to these little things because then they stick to your hands & not to itself! We learned the hard way 😂

Hope you enjoyed this super easy recipe & the super cute pictures of Jeff & Mila bear. They had even more fun eating the popcorn balls than they did making them!
