While it was hot, we still had a blast exploring the park and participating in the Texas Outdoor Family program that the Texas State Parks offers. They proved tents, grills, and so many other fabulous goodies that made this trip a total no-brainer.
This was our first time taking our littlest one, Isabella, camping, and my first time taking both of the kids together! I was a little worried that it would be hard to keep up with both of them, but there were plenty of activities around the park to keep them busy.
The Texas Outdoor Family program teaches your family how to set up camp, cook outdoors, and how to build a fire. The park rangers also gave the girls a fishing lesson, and we went for a night hike! It was such a fantastic experience for the whole family.
Brazos Bend was named the third best state park in the US in 2020, and we are so grateful to have it in our backyard! The road trip went so smoothly, and we had so much space in the 2021 Toyota Sienna!
The girls were in love with the hands-free dual power sliding side doors, but I loved the two outlets that made plugging in things like lights and a small fan for our campsite!
