Summer Home Update: Guest Room Edition

This post is sponsored by Walmart. However, all the opinions expressed below are my own honest opinions.

Now that we can safely have guests over, the guest room needed a major update! We had used it as just an extra closet and storage area since we didn't have any visitors for over a year. One of our favorite things to do is host our friends and family members in our house, so I felt like now is the best time to give the guest room a summer update

I am all about home updates that don't break the bank, so Walmart was definitely my go-to for all things guest room updates! My guest room is relatively small, and I want it to feel larger than it is while still adding more functional items. Mirrors and tall curtains are the easiest way to achieve this. Buying a full-length mirror the size I wanted wasn't in the budget, so I got a little creative.

I saw this idea while scrolling through TikTok, and I didn't save the video but used the affordable full-length mirrors and stacked them on top and next to each other to make a more prominent wall mirror. I know, genius, right! So that's what I decided I would do to visually make our space seem bigger. Since we are currently in a rental, I decided instead of making a ton of holes in the wall, I would just use these fantastic picture hanging strips! It ended up turning out amazing!

We added a daybed with a trundle as an easy way to fit more than one person in the room while still saving tons of space. My favorite thing about this room is the retro summer wall gallery that took literally no effort at all! Walmart has these amazing wall art gallery kits that made this so easy and look spectacular. The fun and comfy accent pillows really tie the entire room together. This room quickly became one of my favorite rooms in the house.

I love how Walmart has laid out some fantastic themes in their summer look book, so my vibe for the room was definitely traveling motifs and retro patterns. I think we created a unique little escape within our house and that our guests could unwind and feel comfortable in their home away from home!
