Easy Cran-Cherry Salsa

So excited to partner with HERDEZ and bring you delicious recipes, like my Cran-Cherry HERDEZ Salsa Casera, just in time for all of your holiday parties and Las Posadas!

HERDEZ has been with my family since I was a little girl, in the form of Dona Maria Mole Sauce. I can remember all the laughs, stories, and fun that happened around a table full of my mom's Mole. So imagine the excitement when I found out HERDEZ had so many other products out there!

Since it is Christmas, and Posada season, that means we can't go over to a relatives house with empty hands. But for some of use busy millennials it's hard to find the time to sit down and make something you know will blow your Tia or abuelita away. You already know they're gonna have some salsa there, so let's show your mama that you can cook once and for all without actually cooking. It's so simply it almost feels like cheating! This recipe is great for the holidays in general, not just Christmas.

  • 1 HERDEZ Salsa Casera
  • 1 Bag of Frozen (or Fresh) Cranberries
  • 1 Bag of Cherries
  • 1 Bunch of Cilantro

Hand chop ingredients for a chunkier salsa!

1.Place cranberries, cherries (handful), & cilantro in a food processor and pulse until finely chopped.
2. Add HERDEZ Casera Salsa
3. Mix & your done!

Usually Cranberries are very tart, but with the addition of the cherries it really brings out a natural sweetness in the salsa and is a perfect combination of sweet, salty, & spicy! I made this bowl for my mom but I knew if I wanted her to try it, I had to pair it with things I already know she likes!

I laid my Cran-Cherry Salsa over a block of cream cheese & chose to surround it with garlic peta chips. For a salsa this chunky you definitely need a sturdier chip!

This chunky good-ness is sure to knock your Tia's socks off at your Posada and begging for the recipe!
